The Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) has announced that the Engineering Industries Association (EIA) has rebranded as Engineering Supply Chain UK (ESCUK).
The new name more accurately represents what members of the association do within today’s manufacturing landscape.
As part of the MTA cluster, which also includes Additive Manufacturing UK (AMUK) and the MACH exhibition, ESCUK will focus on showcasing members’ capacity, capability, products and services throughout the UK supply chain. The rebrand comes at a time when reshoring and sovereign manufacturing are driving increased domestic demand for UK-based suppliers and expertise.
The EIA was originally founded in 1945 to strengthen the UK supply chain in the post-war era.
The EIA has a proud history of supporting British industry. Since joining the MTA cluster, the association has seen continued growth and new opportunities for members to connect with buyers and suppliers looking to bring production back to the UK. This renewed identity positions ESCUK as a central platform for British companies focused on reshoring and strengthening supply chain resilience.
The transition to Engineering Supply Chain UK also clarifies the organisation’s position within the MTA cluster, aligning it more closely with the activities and ambitions of its members. ESCUK represents users of technology across the advanced manufacturing sector and, alongside offering member discounts for the MACH exhibition, is developing an accessible database to highlight UK supply chain businesses and their capabilities.
James Selka, the MTA’s CEO said, “Since the EIA joined the MTA cluster, it has been an exciting journey welcoming their members into our family. This rebrand to ESCUK brings a renewed sense of purpose and greater opportunities to promote members’ capabilities, while aligning more closely with their core focus as technology users.”
ESCUK members also benefit from exclusive offers including discounted British Standards through BSI, access to a wider manufacturing technology network, export support and preferential rates for exhibiting in the Engineering Supply Chain Zone at MACH.
