Quality & Systems Director,
Steven is the Technical, Quality & Systems Director for Intertek, based at their site in Leigh, near Manchester. He is responsible for ensuring that the laboratory systems and processes are fit for both the present and the future; they must also comply with Intertek’s various accreditations. Steven also coordinates local technical activities.
He represents the BMTA at various Standards Committees, and chairs one, for BSI. He has acted as Technical Advisor to BEIS on the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations and has been active in the field of flammability.
Strong drivers for Steven are for things to be technically correct and to best utilise technology – this has been something which has often led to him driving change in many areas of his professional life.
As a member of the BMTA Council he hopes to bring some of that experience and knowledge and help the organisation to meet the needs of now and the future.
