Intertek has announced a new cutting-edge Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and radio test chamber at its Leatherhead facility in the UK. This state-of-the-art addition is set to meet the growing industry demand for swift and reliable electromagnetic compatibility and radio testing, both for current and future needs.
The newly opened three-metre semi-anechoic chamber is equipped with the latest technology in automated radio test stacks and receivers, capable of handling frequencies up to 44 GHz. This advanced setup allows Intertek’s team of highly skilled engineers to support cutting-edge technology while also future-proofing the facility for technologies that may require higher frequency bands.
This new chamber complements Intertek’s existing testing infrastructure in Leatherhead, which includes 10-metre, five-metre, and three-metre test chambers. The expansion is part of Intertek’s broader network of EMC facilities across Europe, with additional locations in Sweden, Germany and Italy, some of which can accommodate testing ranges of up to 30 metres.
Andrew Trounce, Business Line Leader for Electrical at Intertek UK, said, “With this addition to our laboratory in Leatherhead, we reinforce our capacity to support new and future customers with timely and efficient expert advice testing and certification to meet international, regional and local standards and successfully take their products from initial design to global market access.”
